The New Class of World Class
TERRAIN

While the GMC Terrain may be a relatively new addition to the brand’s renowned line of trucks and sport utility vehicles, its new foray into crossover vehicles has been an overwhelmingly successful one. Although the GMC Terrain is thoroughly a GMC vehicle, which means that it’s built to the same stringent standards expected of every vehicle that proudly wears the nameplate, it still manages to create a distinct personality for itself within the lineup. As the brand’s newest entry level, and most affordable, sport utility offering, the quality built into each and every GMC Terrain serves as an introduction to the workmanship GMC puts into all of its vehicles. The GMC Terrain’s modern styling, combined with its flexible engine options of a 2.4 liter, inline four cylinder and a 3.0 liter V6, have allowed it to carve out a large niche within the market of crossover vehicles that it appears unwilling to yield to competitors, and rightfully so. The GMC Terrain’s wide set of features and options make it a clear step above the rest of the field. And, subsequently, Reynolds Buick GMC is proud to offer the breakthrough GMC Terrain among its selection of crossover vehicles.

A single outing in the GMC Terrain makes it apparent that its designers weren’t keen on solely riding the coattails of the immaculate reputation that the GMC name has built for itself over the course of its lifetime. Everything about the sport utility, from its sharply angled body panels, to its aggressively flared front and rear fenders, the GMC Terrain was designed to give the crossover vehicle segment an intimidating that it had clearly been lacking. The sport utility is currently available in SLE and SLT trims, both with their own specific set of features and options. Every GMC Terrain model features convenience items such as 60/40 split folding rear seats, auxiliary power outlets, an audio system with mp3 playback capability and a USB port, and an XM equipped stereo. The combination of these features makes the GMC Terrain a terrific choice for everyday practical use, while still offering plenty of leeway to serve as a recreation vehicle for weekend outings.

Amenities and creature comforts aside, however, the minds behind the GMC Terrain have made it evident that the sport utility is one that should be taken into serious consideration from a mechanical standpoint. Unlike other crossover vehicles, the GMC Terrain has two very flexible and balanced motors to choose from. The 2.4 liter inline 4 produces a respectable 182 peak horsepower while still managing to churn out 174 lb/ft of torque to help traverse around town. However, a large part of the appeal of this engine lies in its best in class 22 city / 32 highway miles per gallon, making it an economical choice as well. However, for the more performance inclined, the GMC Terrain is also available with a powerful 264 horsepower and 222 lb/ft of torque engine, making it a veritable choice for towing heavy payloads of up to 3500 lbs.

Both of the GMC Terrain’s engines are mated to GM’s famed six speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Additionally, while the GMC Terrain comes standard with a front wheel drive drivetrain, the sport utility is also offered with the option of a full time all wheel drive setup, allowing the car to distribute its power to all four wheels simultaneously, making it an ideal choice for colder weather conditions or simply more traction while taking to the streets. Furthermore, the GMC Terrain’s StabiliTrak stability control system, featuring independent front and rear suspensions, makes navigating around sharp turns a breeze while still wrapping its passengers in all the comforts of a soft and cushioned ride. This means that, no matter what kind of driver you are, chances are that you’ll find yourself comfortably at home behind the wheel of the GMC Terrain, a feat that not many other sport utilities can claim.

While the GMC Terrain may not have been the first to appear among the compact crossover vehicles available to the market, it’s clear that the wait for it has been more than worthwhile. Building on what was began by its predecessor, the highly successful GMC Envoy, the Terrain serves as a showcase of what a sport utility vehicle is capable of being. As is standard with the brand’s vehicles, the GMC Terrain offers an excess of utility, providing you with enough adaptability for it to serve as whatever you need it to be. Regardless of whether you’re using it to make runs to the grocery store or traverse mountainous roads, the GMC Terrain is right for you.

Like the GMC Terrain’s brethren within the brand’s lineup, the sport utility features sharp and aggressive styling cues that are designed with a sense of determination and fortitude. Showcasing a newly designed premium interior, the vehicle’s interior design is marked by tasteful silver trim, prominent and intuitive electronics, purposeful technology, and subtle red lighting accents, the GMC Terrain offers an experience that is unmatched in its class. Perhaps more importantly, however, are the standard front, passenger, side impact, and side curtain airbags that come standard with the vehicle. Those features, along with its daytime running lamps and available rear parking assist, makes the GMC Terrain the peerless choice for the safety conscious customer.

But, perhaps the pinnacle of the safety features offered with the GMC Terrain is the OnStar Safe and Sound plan that it comes equipped with. While the OnStar system helps make your life easier with simple offerings such as remote door unlock and hands-free calling, it also gives you peace of mind knowing that, no matter what unfortunate incident your vehicle may be involved in, you’ll always have someone immediately available to tend to your needs. OnStar’s automatic crash response automatically contacts you once the system detects that you’ve been involved in an accident, and roadside and stolen vehicle assistance is also there in the case that you may find yourself stranded on the side of the road.

Here at Reynolds Buick GMC, we do everything we can to make the purchase of your new GMC Terrain as quick and painless as possible. Unlike some other GMC dealerships, we make a concerted effort to send you off with your new vehicle with as little hassle as we can. And, to help do this, we have a number of vehicle leasing and car financing options, depending on what you need to work within your budget. Also, each GMC Terrain comes with a four year or 50,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, in addition to a five year / 100,000 mile powertrain warranty and 5 year / 100,000 mile roadside assistance program.

That said, you shouldn’t hesitate to stop by Reynolds Buick GMC. As we’ve been part of your community for 95 years and counting, we’re here as your family owned and operated personal GMC dealership to ensure that you walk away completely satisfied with your purchase of your new GMC Terrain. At Reynolds Buick GMC, we have a number of auto leasing and new car finance options to make your experience with us as pleasant and smooth as possible.
